What We Believe
"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer
Who is Jesus?
Fully God, Fully Human
-He is Divine: Jesus shares the very nature of God, demonstrating God's power and authority.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us." (John 1:1, 14)
-He is Human: He experienced life as we do, yet lived a life that was absolutely without sin, making Him the perfect sacrifice."For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin." (Hebrews 4:15)
Jesus is the perfect revelation of God's character, displaying both His love and His holiness.
his mission: The ultimate rescue
-The Sacrifice: Jesus willingly went to the cross, where He died. This was not a defeat; it was the ultimate, substitutionary sacrifice, taking the punishment for our sins upon Himself.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
-The Victory: On the third day, Jesus rose physically from the dead! This proves that His sacrifice was accepted by the Father and that He has complete power over sin and death."...that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures..." (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
This incredible act is called salvation, and it is offered freely to everyone who trusts Him.his present and future reign
-He is Interceding: He ascended back into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, acting as our advocate.
"Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us." (Romans 8:34)
-He Will Return: He will return to judge the world and establish His eternal, perfect kingdom."And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." (John 14:3)
